»Time: Single/Full Day Session - Check-in starts at 8:00AM. Competition starts shortly after 9:00AM. Finals expected to be played in late afternoon. Stay around for a post tournament banquet/season-ending awards party! More details to be added soon.
»Divisions (caps are subject to change based on how registrations fill up): Girls: 18U (15 teams max), 16U (40 teams max between open and club divisions), 14U (40 teams max between open and club divisions), 12U (15 teams max)
Boys Divisions (18U and/or 14U) if interest exists
Open to all teams - 110 is the maximum number of teams we can support! 14 nets will be at Western Regional with up to 8 nets at a 2nd nearby location in Emerald Isle. This event does NOT require qualification by participating in another event. Age group definitions are same as indoors.
Divisions with less than 4 teams will be combined with another division.
»Host Hotel: Islander - located at the tournament site. Special group rate for participants/families of $125/night is available again for 2013. This is over 25% off the normal peak season/summer rate. Call 1-877-329-2541
and say you're with the Carolina Region Jr Beach Volleyball group. As of 5/1/13 the block of rooms has filled up! (25 rooms were reserved at this group rate for both Friday and Saturday nights) The hotel does open up unbooked rooms from other group rentals 30 days prior to date. You can try then or look at alternative hotels in nearby Cedar Point/Swansboro, the neighboring Holiday Trav-L-Park Campground or rentals through Blue Water Vacation Rentals.
»Format: Divisions will consist of pools of 4 or 5 teams played in round robin fashion. Top 2 teams (4 team pools) or 3 teams (5 team pools) from each pool advance to a single elimination playoff. Lower placed teams from round robin play will be put into a consolation bracket for continued play as well.
»Fees: $20/player ($40 for team) paid at check-in. Cash or check to vh1vball accepted.
»USAV Membership Required: This event is sanctioned by USA Volleyball. If you do not have a membership from playing indoor club volleyball, you can join for $15 for the summer or $5 for a single event here. Be sure to bring proof of membership to check-in if signing up online prior to an event. Forms will also be available at check-in to fill out.
