  From the Editor

As we enter the month of June, vh1vball will only be offering one tournament event this month, a King and Queen Coed Grass Tourney. The other big volleyball event in the area will be the NC State Games where we'll be providing an assistance role in running the events. Check out the June Events preview for more info.
As a result of only one vh1vball event in June, this month's newsletter is slimmed down. In an effort to feed everyone's desire to play volleyball though, we will also highlight some regional events in the events preview article.
In the meantime, keep an eye out in late June for a larger July issue as we get back into the full swing of things again.
vh1vball thanks everyone who's participated in our April and May events thus far where we've already had a combined total of 449 participants! We also wish everyone a great start to the summer season in June!

schedule

Initial plans for our June events included the 1st Annual Spike for the Cure Charity Volleyball Tournament on Sat, June 10th at Jaycee Park. However, we've decided it would be better to push this event out to a later date that is still being determined. In the meantime, we've decided to hold a King and Queen Coed Grass Tourney (Sign-up Now!) at the usual location of Baileywick Park on Sat, June 10th instead. We apologize for any confusion this caused and we'll be sure to let everyone know the new date of the charity event when it becomes known.
The second main event of the month is the NC State Games, a multi-sport, Olympic games-style competition for North Carolina residents. Both grass and sand volleyball competitions will be held on the weekend of June 24-25. (Sign-up Now!) No money here, just medals for first through third place teams. Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions in Men's, Women's, and Coed doubles formats will be held at Green Hope and N. Cary Park. All grass competitions will be held at Green Hope with sand being split between Green Hope and N. Cary Park based on signups. As a supporter of the NC State games, vh1vball hopes many of the participants from our grass and sand events will be interested in participating. With these events being held in Cary, this is yet another opportunity for the volleyball community to show the town that volleyball has a growing presence in the area and proper facilities should be constructed and maintained to help sustain the growth.
For anyone interested in other events in the region, here's a brief rundown of events in June:
